Colchester

Colchester is in Essex, and is about 60 miles north-east of London. By train it takes less than an hour to reach central London's Liverpool Street Station. Cambridge is also very near.
The town has a population of around 150,000, and has its own theatre, cinema, roller rink and leisure centre, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, pubs, bars and nightclubs.
The countryside around Colchester is famous, and includes the beautiful village of Dedham

Colchester English Study Centre

Colchester English Study Centre, or CESC, is in Colchester - a perfect location to study English. Colchester is less than an hour from London by train, and is a lively, historic university town.
Set up in 1969, CESC is accredited by the British Council and is an exams centre for IELTS, the University of Cambridge ESOL exams, and TOEIC.
CESC offers a choice of English language courses, including General English, Cambridge ESOL Exam Preparation, IELTS Preparation, Business English, Teacher Training, Legal English, English for Medicine, and Fifty Plus courses.
Students study in small classes with experienced, well-qualified teachers.
As well as its teaching programme, Colchester English Study Centre offers an exciting social programme, which includes evening activities and excursions.
Many students prefer to stay with homestay host families in and around Colchester, to practise their English and to find out more about British culture out of class time. We also have a residence available.

Summer Teachers' Course

Starting dates 2012: 31 May, 03 September

20*50 minute lessons per week of general English, together with 10*50 minute lessons per week of a professional course, in groups no greater than 13 in size

In single rooms, hallf board, homestay accommodation.

Our summer teacher training  courses offer training in modern teaching methodology, as well as on-going language improvement. Elements covered include:

Communicative Language Teaching, Teaching Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, Teaching Vocabulary, Material Evaluation, Testing and Correction, CALL, Teaching Specialised English, Course design, CLIL.

The courses are highly practical: teachers study new ideas and techniques. We have offered training courses to primary, secondary and tertiary teachers since 1969, on behalf of the Ministries of Education and other educational associations from over 30 countries. For 20 years, CESC has trained French teachers in summer for the French Ministry of Education, and has organised similar training programmes for teachers from Eastern Europe and Africa. We offer extensive private study facilities for all visiting teachers.
